• If you can't choose between electric of acoustic guitar then have a think about the kind of guitar sound you prefer. Do you find acoustic a more inspiring sound or electric?

• Don't worry about making the wrong choice because there is no wrong choice, they both have the same number of strings which are tuned the same. Chord shapes are the same, scales are the same, the only difference really is that they sound and feel different.

• If in doubt pick electric guitar. Generally they have a cheaper entry point on equipment, and you can practice through headphones so the only person you can offend by hitting wrong notes is yourself!

 

• Which ever you choose you can be assured you will natural pick up the other as you progress as a player. Who knows? You might even pick up a Banjo and Mandolin too!
